After a busy couple of months of officially making Edmonton our home, and taking possession of a new build in Chappelle Garden in the midst of a busy wedding season, I spent most of the month of August travelling. First to North Carolina, spending some time in the mountains at the Parker Pfister Workshop. To say it was amazing is an understatement! It was therapy; It was hard; It was a safe place to be yourself; It was just what I needed as I start searching for my place in this new city. (If you are a photographer and you need a creative reboot, check him out. His next workshop will be 7 incredible days in FRANCE…just GO! You won’t regret it.)
I left North Carolina and went to Ottawa to spend some time with my sister. She is 20 years younger than me, fresh out of college and working her first full summer at a salon in downtown Ottawa. This is the first time we have had the opportunity to spend this kind of time together, as adults having adult conversations over a glass of wine, and watching adult shows (Game of Thrones!!). It was pretty special.
Of course, we had to do a photo shoot. Jacinta and Lee need some pretty photos for the walls of their new apartment, and I needed to play in the pretty city with this amazing, gorgeous light and put the newly found inspiration to work! It was a win/win, really!
