To say that I am thankful for these people would be an understatement. I have been blessed with the best friends that a girl could ask for, most of whom have been my chosen family for at least a decade. Dyan came into my life more than 10 years ago. We’ve seen some happy times, we’ve seen some not so happy times. She is the friend that listens, offers you a glass of wine and makes you laugh, even when you are hardcore ugly crying.
She is also the mom of these two sweet boys, she is an amazing mom and Curtis is just the best dad. Kaedyn was just a baby when they left Fort McMurray to live closer to family in Fort Saskatchewan. I hadn’t had the opportunity to get to know them parents until just this past Spring when we decided to make a move to the city, and in their usual selfless and giving way, they offered up a room until our home in Edmonton was ready. It was a beautiful couple of months really watching them calmly deal with crazy hockey and lacrosse schedules, give words of encouragement when a game was lost, and ensuring that family fun was had in the middle of it all.
And those boys. They make my heart grow three sizes when they are around. They are so funny, so energetic, and so loving. And, HANDSOME! My gosh, they are cute! Life is a little sweeter for everyone with these two little guys in it.
