Stephanie and her sister met me at my home office with books, checklists, a set of questions and tons of excitement. They grilled me about how the day would go, her sister glancing a wedding planning book every now and then to make sure we were covering all the bases, and making notes as we went. It was the first wedding in their family, and they were going to make sure it was perfect!
Perfect, it was.
We started with hair and makeup at The Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, where the girls were super relaxed and enjoying some pampering. The guys were equally relaxed enjoying a hot shave before returning to their room to chill out with a drink and finish getting all spiffy for the ladies. Josh chose a colour for his shoe laces, got into his custom Italian suit, and they all hammed it up for my second shooter, Virginia.
Stephanie and Josh decided to do a first look. They wanted to maximize the time spent with their families who came from across the country (Newfoundland, mostly) and across the pond (Australia, mostly) between the ceremony and reception. Plus, during our meeting Stephanie told me that she wanted to enjoy the herself as she was hosting of the biggest party of her life.
Almost 200 people attended the party. You can imagine Newfies and Australians together….the party wasn’t long starting. It was the hottest day of the summer, but that didn’t stop anyone from filling the dance floor as soon as dinner and speeches were over.
Stephanie and Josh, it was a great day with amazing people. I’m so happy to have been invited to capture the true love of you two and the true joy of your families. xo

Yup….that’s the Maid of Honor standing on the bride’s back to get the wedding dress, while my assistant Amanda nervously watches and after failing to convince them that it was a very bad idea!
I just love this shot that Virginia got in the limo as they headed to the ceremony!
