Sarah and Michael spent their first date two-stepping to a live Country band. That’s when she knew he was the one. During a gorgeous night in Puerto Vallarta, on a romantic Rhythms of the Night dinner cruise and show, Michael surprised Sarah with a ring and asked her to be his wife.
It seems these two love to surprise each other with the most thoughtful gestures, and their wedding day was no exception. From Sarah texting a sexy teaser photo from the getting ready room at the Platinum Hotel, to Michael’s gift of a Swarovksi Dragonfly during their vows, it was clear that these two are absolutely committed to each other’s happiness. Sarah is a little bit of a prankster and likes to throw some curveballs in there from time to time, even on the wedding day! She rode to the ceremony on her Spyder, wearing sunglasses and a wedding dress, and escorted by their friends on Harley Davidson’s. She spotted a local Bylaw Officer along the way, stopped for a selfie to send it to Michael!
This marriage brings together four of their collective children and two grandkids…can you believe they have grandchildren?? These motorcycle loving, Sturgess going, two-stepping bad asses are not your parents grandparents. They are fun loving, outgoing, adventure seeking, skip-the-sappy-speeches-and-get-on-with-the-party-kind-of-people. And, that’s what they did, starting it off by floating across the dance floor in their first dance at the Legion, as I imagine Michael’s parents did when they taught dance there every Saturday night.
Surprises, pranks and a little nostalgia…Sarah and Michael, I can’t think better way for you two to officially start this adventure together as husband and wife!
Michael’s dad was definitely there in spirit, carried in the hearts of all. Michael had this amazing art at their home, painted by local artist Russell Thomas, that wanted to incorporate into his wedding photos. I love the warm smile that Russell captured here, I imagine there was a very warm personality to go with that smile, and I imagine he was smiling just like this on Sarah and Michael’s day.
That touch, the connection between Michael and his mom here as he walks down the aisle with his new wife. It melts me. There are no words, but so much is being said here.
