Samantha was dress shopping with friend at Timeless Bridal Boutique, when she suddenly decided to start planning a wedding. After a four year engagement and two kids they finally set a date. She found this stunning dress and things started to come together.
The wedding was originally scheduled for August 2016, however Fort McMurray saw the devastation of a wildfire that same year. During the uncertain times of the evacuation they decided it would be best to hold off.
Samantha’s dress was still at that Timeless Bridal during the evacuation, but Margaret (the wonderful owner) was so thoughtful. She took all of her bride’s dresses with her when she evacuated with her family! It would be over a year before she could wear that dress. To say she was excited to wear it when the day finally came is an understatement.
This day was a long time coming and well worth the wait. It was a beautiful Alberta summer day with not a cloud in the sky. Samantha finally got to where that dress, and friends and family came from across the Country to watch them marry in front of the corn maze at Dunvegan Garden. When they were pronounced “Mr. and Mrs.” Samantha threw her hands up and cheered. The celebration continued at the Legion where Samantha and Lance started the night off with a special dance with their girls.
I am so proud to have the opportunity to tell this family’s story. I was filled with joy the entire day for this family of four; from spending the day with Samantha while her girls and bridesmaids were buzzing with excitement, to listening to their speeches!
