Christina is the epitome of an organized bride.  Not only did she hand make the most perfect details, she sought out local artists to make custom gifts for her bridesmaids, and design original art.  From the decor to a detailed wedding day schedule, this bride planned it all.  Margaret, of Timeless Bridal Boutique helped her bring it all together.

The only thing that couldn’t be planned was the weather, and Mother Nature didn’t hold back on the wedding day.   A good old Alberta thunderstorm rolled in over Fort McMurray just an hour before the ceremony was set to begin.  An outdoor wedding ceremony was out of the question, but this couple took it in stride.  At the end of the day they would be married.  That’s all that mattered.

Margaret and her team moved quickly to set up the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts (SECPA) as the ceremony site.  They packed up the beautiful wooden custom backdrop, a canoe, and so many other details.  We were ready for a wedding only a half hour later than originally scheduled.  It’s really kind of extraordinary, actually.  I’m positive that I don’t even have half the details on how they were able to pull this off! (Thankfully the storm passed shortly after the ceremony.  We ventured out for photos in the park with this insanely fun bridal party…see the shenanigans below!)

Let’s talk about the groom for a minute here.  This guy, with some help from his dad, pulled off a day full of surprises of his own for his bride. The morning started with a special David’s Tea delivery in a “Wifey” mug to Orange Lily Hair and Body Studio as the girls enjoyed a relaxing morning at the salon. Later, a beautiful flower arrangement was delivered to SEPCA dressing room.  And finally, she was given the most thoughtful wooden jewellery box, handmade by the groom, with the sweetest note attached.

I love details, but I love the meaning and the thought behind each one so much more than the details themselves.  I could go on about them for far too long.  Did I mention that much of the wedding was influenced by Christina’s time living in Australia?  Which brings me to the most important part of this story.

Christina loves to travel, and her warm personality attracts equally warm people, just like her.  She “collected” most of her bridesmaids through her travels, and as one of these wonderful ladies put it…

Christina may have travelled the world, but she found a home in Rob.

Christina and Rob, thank you so much for inviting us along to document this perfect day!  It was truly a joy to spend the day with you all.  xo

Hi, I'm Chrystal (she/her) and I'm so happy you're here!

If you're looking to feast your eyes on couples in love, raw emotion and vibrant scenes, you've come to the right place.

I'm an Edmonton wedding photographer for couples madly in love, and those who love to laugh right from their hearts (and bellies).  Over the past 10 years I've been very lucky to photograph weddings of all kinds and sizes including Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Fijian, Chinese weddings and all sorts of fusions.  I've photographed teeny tiny elopements to grand celebrations, LGBTQ+ weddings and inter-racial weddings, as well as destination weddings in places like Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Las Vegas, Canmore, Banff, and Newfoundland - in addition to the beautiful Edmonton weddings and Fort McMurray weddings I've had the privilege to be a part of.

I would love to here more about you.  LET'S CONNECT!
