Edmonton Winter Wedding

There are so many stories to go with this Edmonton wedding ceremony and destination wedding celebration.  I couldn’t possibly get it all into one blog post.  Luckily, I’ll be breaking it down into three.  These stories are just too awesome to not share!

Moriah and I met at the Bridal Fantasy Edmonton Wedding Show in 2017.   She told me she was planning a destination wedding at Now Larimar Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  I showed her photos from Chance and Charmaine’s beautiful wedding day at that very resort just over a year prior.  The next thing I remember is meeting Moriah and Shane at my front door, inviting them in and offering them tea with my Newfoundlander accent.  They say that’s when they knew for sure that we were a match.  (Sidenote: It is SO important that couples and their photographer ensure they are a great fit on both sides.  No different than co-workers at your job, you have to trust each other to be the best team that you can be!)

One day before leaving for the Dominican Republic, we gathered The Mill Woods United Church, with a tiny group of family and friends to witness their legal ceremony.  Some flew from the all the way from the East Coast to join them for a beautiful Edmonton winter wedding.  The very next day they boarded another plane for sun, sand and celebration!

Do you believe in fate or destiny?  Like those movies where the characters lives move in parallel, until  something happens and paths cross at the perfect time and suddenly everything makes sense?  I absolutely do.  And I love hearing the stories of those who experience it!

A mutual friend realized they were both living in Edmonton. She suggested that Shane reach out to Moriah.  They were two East Coasters living on the West Coast.  Surely, they would have something in common?  That and so much more, my friends.  Moriah knew the night they met that they would be married.  Shane was smitten.  So much so that when asked about Moriah, he had no words.  Then he met Lynette, Moriah’s mom.  A second connection was made.  Lynette and Stephanie, Shane’s mom, had gone to nursing school together 20 years ago!

Needless to say, the Edmonton wedding ceremony was just the beginning of a much larger, beautiful and heart warming week of celebrating! So much more to come on that…

Hi, I'm Chrystal (she/her) and I'm so happy you're here!

If you're looking to feast your eyes on couples in love, raw emotion and vibrant scenes, you've come to the right place.

I'm an Edmonton wedding photographer for couples madly in love, and those who love to laugh right from their hearts (and bellies).  Over the past 10 years I've been very lucky to photograph weddings of all kinds and sizes including Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Fijian, Chinese weddings and all sorts of fusions.  I've photographed teeny tiny elopements to grand celebrations, LGBTQ+ weddings and inter-racial weddings, as well as destination weddings in places like Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Las Vegas, Canmore, Banff, and Newfoundland - in addition to the beautiful Edmonton weddings and Fort McMurray weddings I've had the privilege to be a part of.

I would love to here more about you.  LET'S CONNECT!
