This gorgeous Muslim wedding took place exactly 1000 days after Laila and Taha met. Which was also 1000 days after the day that Laila knew she had met “the one”. Three weeks after that day in October of 2017 they knew they would marry.
Taha lives in Toronto and Laila in Edmonton. So distance made wedding planning a little difficult. But, they both agreed that many traditional Muslim wedding ceremonies and customs would be included in their celebration.
What they couldn’t plan for was the impact of COVID19 and a worldwide pandemic . However, these two were determined to be married this year. They started to re-imagine their wedding and how they could celebrate with family and friends while maintaining physical distancing.
They embraced the challenge head on. The result was a beautiful day full of intimate and emotional moments. The ceremony was delivered live online and enjoyed by friends and family from across Canada and India. The evening was filled with scheduled visits from local would-be wedding guests. Everyone was in great spirits despite the distancing and the massive thunderstorm that rolled in!
Laila and Taha, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your beautiful wedding celebration. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the week with you and your wonderful families!
